The mission of Stoughton Parks and Recreation is to provide a park and recreation system that meets the needs of the community now and in the future.

Establish and maintain high-quality parks and recreational services that are efficient, effective, and economical, while ensuring they meet the diverse needs of the community.
Promote ongoing community input and coordination with relevant departments to ensure parks and recreation facilities, programs, and open spaces cater to all residents, regardless of age, gender, or ability.
Emphasize the benefits of larger neighborhood and community parks with a range of facilities over smaller playgrounds.
Advocate for water recreation opportunities and recognize the importance of adequate funding to address current park needs, acquire future parkland, and support facility development, using all available resources to enhance the City's park system.
