Unstructured Recreational Activities

We offer a variety of unstructured recreational activities.  These include open gyms, walking, community garden, concerts in the park, and swimming. Please see the calendar below for current opportunities.  Below the calendar are descriptions of the activities.  Many of these activities take place in school gyms.  If school is closed (snow day), then the activity scheduled to be in a school gym is cancelled for the day.

Saturday and Sunday Open Gyms

Saturday and Sunday open gyms are for ages 16 and up, but younger children may attend if accompanied by an adult. They are primarily for basketball, but other sports may be played if space allows.  Please bring your own ball if attending as they're not provided. The cost is $2 per person.

 

Monday Youth Open Gym

Monday youth open gym is for children in grades 3-8.  Younger children may but must be accompanied by an adult.  A gym supervisor will be present.  This open gym is primarily for basketball, but other sports may be played if space allows.  Please bring your own ball if attending as they're not provided.  The cost is $2 per person.  

 

Pickleball Open Gym

Pickleball is a fun game for all ages.  It is a racket game that combines elements from table tennis, tennis, and badminton.  We provide balls, nets, and court markers.  Please bring your own racket.  The cost is $2 per person per day or $40 for a season pass.

 

Walking the Halls

Walking the halls is a free walking program in the River Bluff Middle School halls.  It is open to the public and a good way to continue walking in the winter.

 

Troll Beach

Lowell Park Community Garden

We have a community garden at Lowell Park that is open to the public.  Garden plots are 15X20 feet and are reserved for the season.  Gardening is a great family activity!  To learn more about the community garden, please visit the garden section of the website - LINK.

 

Gazebo Musikk

Gazebo Musikk is a weekly summer concert series at Rotary Park.  Concerts are on Thursday evenings.  For the latest information including upcoming performers, please visit the Gazebo Musikk Facebook Page.
